We love what we do, and we do it with passion. We are nature mentors/playworkers who specialise in working with young children for adventures in WILD nature settings.
If you are interested in volunteering or working with Birdwings, please feel free to leave your resume with us on our application page here: https://forms.gle/kTeuktsNns9TDJ2o7 , and we will be in touch when a position is available.
The outdoors are where I belong and you’ll often find me sitting in my garden happily sipping a cup of tea watching the children play, or rolling in the mud with them.
I’ve worked in schools and children focused programs for nine years and have a love for allowing youngsters to explore and learn by doing. Usually this involves a lot of laughter, mess and fun!
I have two young kids myself which keep me grounded and remind me to enjoy each moment because life moves fast and it’s a wonderful journey.
I have an Early Childhood and Primary trained background and have worked in a variety of Childcare, Kindergarten and Primary School settings. I have an interest in Rudolf Steiner Anthroposophy and am studying my Graduate Certificate in Steiner Education.
I have spent the last couple of years on maternity leave with my two little girls, and our family has recently moved from Palm Beach to greener pastures on Tamborine Mountain. This is where we found Birdwings and I found a spot on the Birdwings team!
Born and currently living on Bundjalung nation (Tweed Heads). I’ve over 4 years experience in learning support with indigenous and non indigenous students throughout NT, Nth NSW and QLD and will be a qualified educator in the coming months. I work with outdoor education venues on programs in Northern NSW.
I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my days than being amongst the elements! Land, sun and sea, I enjoy diving, bushwalking, yoga and meditation and enjoy reading. I love travelling to new locations and exploring our beautiful Australia.
I am originally from Norway. On extended visits back to my birth country, I have worked in Forest School Kindys, where we do fun, educational activities like at Birdwings, however not in hot weather, but cold, with lots of snow and ice!
I also work within Natural Medicine, and appreciate how important spending time in nature is for our body and mind. I practice yoga, love walking on the beach, but most of my spare time is spent off-tracking in rivers, mountains or the bush, often camping out.
